Story
I'm taking part in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival on 21 September 2014 and running a Half Marathon to raise much needed funds for Cerebral Palsy Alliance. More importantly to help support them raising awareness on how to better integrate people with Cerebral Palsy into society and the workforce.
My brother was born with Cerebral Palsy. With a lot of support from family and friends, he was able to integrate well into our society. He has finished university, now working full time as an IT Technical Support Specialist. But so many people who have Cerebral Palsy are kept outside of society and tucked away. With proper support, I believe they can integrate successfully into our society and the workforce given the physical and social skills to do so.
Cerebral palsy affects one in every 500 children born in Australia, is a permanent disability that affects movement and is the most common physical disability in childhood. Your support will help us meet the lifelong needs of people living with cerebral palsy.
This September, I’m going to be sweating it out and doing my best to complete a gruelling course over the Harbour Bridge, around Sydney's CBD and finishing at the Opera House steps
Thank you for your support and helping to make a difference!
How You Are Helping
