11th September update - have now reached my target for Barnardos but that doesn't mean the fundraising stops!!

Feeling pretty good and only 10 days to go :)

In 2 weeks, on a sunny Sunday morning  (fingers crossed)  I will be putting my best foot forward at 6.15am to complete my first half marathon in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2014.

You might think I’m crazy (too old) – but I’ve always wanted to run a half marathon and decided 2014 was the year for me. Not only will I achieve something for myself but hope to raise some much needed funds for Barnardos Australia.

Your donation can give me the boost I need to reach my fundraising target for Barnardos Australia, an organization committed to making a lifelong difference to the lives of thousands of families and children in need.

I have set a target of $1000 and am over half way there but need a bit more help to reach it. Your donation will get me over the finish line and help Barnardos Australia. That’s a win all round!

I’m well into my training and with the help of my trustee Osteopath who did some acupuncture on my aging knee yesterday I managed to do a reasonable training run this morning. Next weekend we plan to go around the course (have been told that is useful) so we know what we are up for ....... maybe not such a good idea!!
