Half marathon for the Cancer Council
Story
Eight months ago I couldn't jog the 200 metres to the end of the road without stopping. But very soon I will attempt to run a half marathon.
If you know me at all then you know that I have spent a large part of my life actively avoiding exercise. My particular brand of uncoordination mixed with about zero willpower meant I did no sport at all.
So I really don't quite know how I got to the stage where I am staring straight down the barrel of a 21.1km run. All I can say is: BRING IT ON.
Everyone knows someone who has been diagnosed with cancer. My story is the same as thousands of other people in Australia and probably millions around the world. Mum was taken from us too soon. Just like other people's mums, dads, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters. It's a sad, terrible fact.
Every dollar raised helps the NSW Cancer Council provide support for cancer sufferers and their carers, during what is usually the most harrowing time of their lives. Thank you for your support. It is appreciated more than you realise.
